Why Big Data is Important to Your Business

Big data gives us the ability to improve business aspects based on data derived from analyzing results such as :

Social listening: Social listening gives you the power to determine who is saying what about your business. Brand sentiment analysis will present you with the type of detailed feedback you can’t get from regular polls or surveys.
Comparative analysis: This branch of big data allows you to compare your products, services and overall brand authority with your competition by cross examining user behavior metrics and seeing how consumers are engaging with businesses in your sector in real-time.

Marketing analytics: The information gained from marketing analytics will help you promote new products, services or initiatives to your target audience in a more informed, innovative way.

Targeting: This stream of big data offers the power to dig into social media activity about a particular subject from multiple sources in real-time, identifying audiences for your marketing campaigns. For instance, you might want to target certain customer groups with an exclusive special offer or give them a sneak-peak at a brand-new product launch.

Customer satisfaction: By analyzing big data from a multitude of sources, you’ll be able to enhance the usability of your website and boost customer engagement. Also, these metrics will help you iron out any potential customer issues before they have a chance to go viral, preserving brand loyalty and vastly improving your customer service efforts across a host of channels, including phone, email, chat and social.

  1. Why big data is important to your business? I agree with the blog saying it is really useful in order to improve your business based on analyzed data from past experiences such as social listening, comparative analysis, marketing analytics, targeting and customer satisfaction. Each of this areas have different possibilities to explore and help to make the business better somehow.
From this aspects I think one of the most important ones is the social listening because is something very difficult to control and change. Once a company has developed a reputation, it is very difficult to change the consumer perspective. Brand sentiment analysis helps to understand the point of view of the costumer and you can not get this information with regular surveys and polls because it is very detailed. Another important area is targeting, because it helps us to expand our market, we can see what kind of people are really interested in our products or services and what do they share in common and by effect identifying audiences for our future campaigns. Social media can be very a helpful tool because now days everyone is on there so it helps the company to be engaged in customer interaction, connect with customers, increase awareness of the brand and boost sales. Social media has over 3 million users around the whole world per month and every time you post something is an opportunity to attract a new potential customer of the company or brand. In order to make the most out of inbound traffic, is important that you often post content that is engaging and adds value for your target audience.
