Because of coronavirus, the global economic goes down and lots of employees are laid off. Of course, not only data analyst but various industries. However, I am going to especially focus on how epidemic impacts on data industry. I am interested in having the job related to big data because I once saw an essay talking about that data analyst is the most popular job nowadays. However, after I read the article, I realize that not all jobs are stable. If you can’t bring the benefit to the company, you will be laid off. Particularly, the coronavirus makes lots of business close and further influence their profit. They need to minimize expenses, so fire employees is one of the way. I also learn that no matter what, we do need to improve ourselves and keep learning different knowledge so that we won’t be replaced by machine or other people. In the article, you can see that graph points out the US job dramatically falls in 2020. According to my guess, I think why data analyst would be laid off is because of fewer customers. If there is no customers, the company won’t get the data. Because of it, there is no tasks or jobs for data analysts to accomplish. It’s a realistic problem. If the company have a good sales, they need data analyst to help them become more better. However, recent condition makes them decide to mobilize the position. I believe whether you are worker or student, now we can do is to enrich ourselves and bring more value to the company we work in the future.

    Thank you for your article sharing. Yes, global virus did hurt people’s life in the past few months. Particularly workers had experience a lot of things. Such as work from home. It is aim to to keep the social distance, therefore lower people chance to get the virus. This working mode may lower the productivity. Also it Is definitely not convenient than the original working environment for people when they want to have a meeting or discussion with other. Not to mention if they require some special equipment to help those done but employees do not own one at their home. And I think other problem may goes to the slow down of economic activity as the article and you also mentioned about this point. Therefore, the amount of companies clients decrease a lot. And the phenomenon lead to a lot of issues. For example, company did not ear enough profits to maintain the operation cost the used to have. Then, managers will take action and try to solve the deficits. Required workers to have the no pay leave. In this policy, company can still keeps those employees but cut down their working is means to cut down some part of salaries expenditures company itself. And it will lower their burden, better for them to pass through the hard time. In more worst case, some of the employees will get fired. That is the same meaning for a business. Clean all the unnecessary expenditure, try to make a smaller loss as they don’t have much sales.
