Big data is important for companies to survive in a highly competitive environment. The following big data trends will have an impact on the current environment in 2020. Data sources and AI applications are become increasingly important. Thus, 2020 will be a year of innovation and further development in the field of big data. Some trends are summarized below.

 Improved speech processing

 Improved speech processing Big Data, AI, IoT, and machine learning (ML) realize the expansion of interaction between people and technology. With natural language processing (NLP), programs can understand the human language in speaking and writing. Since NLP is used to communicate content in human languages, even untrained users can interact with such intelligent systems. Among other things, NLP is a powerful tool that can be used to identify customer needs and develop products and services based on those needs.

 Intelligent Metadata Catalogs

 Metadata is structured data that includes information about the characteristics of other data. This can let huge amounts of data be localized, captured, synthesized. Intelligent functions based on machine learning can be used for data preparation, collaboration in data projects, and optimized workflow. Since the entire context is retained, the information is easier to access and can also be used for future projects. Because of the growing demand for intelligent metadata catalogs , they will be increasingly equipped with AI to achieve proactive, adaptive and faster data provision.

Big data analysis and unprecedented computing power have benefit the oil industry a lot. This provides oil companies with better tools to evaluate the large amounts of data generated by seismic sensors. High-fidelity imaging technology and new algorithms for model simulation provide greater clarity for the reservoir potential under study. Using more accurate information, they can minimize the risk of identifying and mapping reservoirs while optimizing management and operating costs.
