The past few years have witnessed the rise of big data, while some people were thinking about the role of big data when the crisis is coming. The continued spread of COVID-19 has led many to ask how big data initiatives can help in a pandemic. It’s becoming increasingly clear that our ability to generate, record, and analyze data is an essential part of our pandemic response strategy.
When it comes to responding to a pandemic like COVID-19, contact tracing is of immense importance. Contact tracing involves tracking down the individuals that you came into contact with after being exposed to a contagion like COVID-19. if we’re incapable of determining who the infected were in contact with once they became contagious, we’re incapable of preventing the spread of the infection. And, big data have done a good job in this area by working with smartphone apps to track where and when people are going in each day, that is very helpful when we find that people got infected, staff could check everything from the app then go find people who have a risk of getting infected.
There are some issues that people worry about privacy . There's no denying that big data enables us to map the spread of various diseases with greater accuracy and speed than ever before. Much in the same way that big data makes disease mapping easier, though, it also ensures that privacy violations are easier to come across. So the government has to make their move on these issues.
Nevertheless, health experts and political leaders are finding big data so helpful in fighting pandemics that we’re doubtlessly going to see it relied upon for the foreseeable future.
The rise of big data has become a thing in these recent years. And because of Corona virus or COVID-19, that is now a pandemic all over the world, makes people realize more about the importance of big data and such. We can use the big data analytics ability to generate, record, and make it become a useful data. Because by doing things, it can be collect as a data and we can use that to tracks or generates or simulate the situation. For example, to track the people who got infected by this virus, and when they not knowing that they have this virus, or even more with the people who knows that they are infected but still act normal. Because most of the city now are a smart city that come with a sensors or technology which will help them to track the patient way more easier. And from using those technology, they can track and tell the people to be aware of those areas or public transportations they might use. So it is can be seen that big data is now a very important thing for us as it is a helpful method that can help us with our daily life, and reduce the risk of getting infected. However, privacy is still a big thing that people still concern about, we can not deny the fact that big data is the data that are collected from us. But on the other hand, if the collector shows their transparency and use it in a right way, then we can relaxed more about it and trust in them to make the data become more useful.
ReplyDeleteThis article really highlights the importance of big data and shows why currently big data which is itself is Big data is a field that treats ways to analyze, systematically extract information from, or otherwise deal with data sets that are too large or complex to be dealt with by traditional data-processing application software. Data with many cases (rows) offer greater statistical power, while data with higher complexity (more attributes or columns) may lead to a higher false discovery rate Big data challenges include capturing data, data storage, data analysis, search, sharing, transfer, visualization, querying, updating, information privacy and data source. Big data was originally associated with three key concepts: volume, variety, and velocity. When we handle big data, we may not sample but simply observe and track what happens. Therefore, big data often includes data with sizes that exceed the capacity of traditional software to process within an acceptable time and value and i really that articles like this highlight the usefulness and endless possibilities that big data provide, not only in this day and age but for the future aswell.
