How healthtech startups can achieve true value

https://techcrunch.com/2019/08/19/all-that-glitters-is-not-gold-how-healthtech-startups-can-achieve-true-value/

The healthtech industry is in a golden age. Right now, they are collecting money from investments pre and post IPO like never before.

Healthtech is a combination of the words health and tech, meaning the combination of healthcare or health information and technology. This would be a more complex industry than social media and other tech companies as lives are at stake for any errors.

An example of a healthtech company could be the genetics analysis company 23andme. They charge a fee for curious customers who want to research their ancestry then provides them genetic breakdowns according to their database of millions of other users. 23andme depends on a database of locations and genetics to be able to more accurately determine their customers' ancestry, this of course uses big data and requires some predictive technology too.

The healthtec industry is one that could be built on big data as a foundation. This serves the purpose of being able to provide solutions that are based on millions, if not billions, of people.

This could be the next gold rush, big data is far from realizing its true potential. It would be wise to learn more about big data and its applications to healthtech as a student and future employee or to invest in companies already taking full advantage of this miraculous technology as an investor. The world could really be a better place if data is used for great advances and the sparing of human life as opposed to war.
