Game On! Ways Online Gaming Companies Can Stay Competitive and Profitable
Online game is becoming more and more popular since the e-sport has rising. League of Legend has becoming like NBA. The crowd all go crazy when they made the first kill, which is first blood. More and more people think that e-sport is a kind of sport in the recent year, as the technology developed so well. The world is not just here but also in the online world.
The online gaming space represents one of the more recent areas where rapid data collection and analysis can provide a competitive differentiation.
Armed with the right big data analytics platform, mobile gaming companies can use their big data to understand when business incidents throw a wrench into the game, giving immediate feedback for when game users are more often and less often engaged.
Bernard Marr, one of the most highly respected voices on data and business, said recently in DataInformed “It would behoove us all to keep an eye on the gaming industry to see what might be emerging in terms of AI evolution and innovation. The gaming industry has proven time and time again that they are the testing ground for the technology that will ultimately influence our everyday lives.”
Developers of all sizes face challenges to understand their players and step up their game to keep them engaged. After all the longer a player stays connected, the higher the engagement rates, the better the credibility and ultimately higher revenue.
So, we know that even gaming industry uses big data to analyze.
It is very interesting to see and watch closely the rapid growth of online gaming industry. Online games have been popular for over 2 decades, but in the recent years their growth has been exponential. Personally, I don’t play online games, but I have some friends they do. Wit a fast internet access almost from any place in the world, each day there are more and pore players. Even the places where there was no internet a few years ago now have access to a speed connection. In my opinion, the other factor that contributes in a rapid growth is a change of global culture, especially with the younger generations. When I was young, 9 out of 10 kids of my age would go out and play until our parents would call us home. Today, its hard to see kids playing outside. Instead, they connect with each other online and play their favorite games. I can’t help but think about the e-sports. All the major sports and leagues have their e-sport teams and associations. E-NBA is a very popular ‘sport’. I have just seen E-Euro 2020 Soccer competition. It was popular in Europe, especially when all major sport leagues are canceled or postponed because of COVID-19. This is also one of the factors why these online games became so popular in the recent months. Even people who never played online games started playing them because they are at home and don’t have anything else to do. Maybe, if I was not in Taiwan and had to be quarantined, I would try some online games myself. :)
