How Big Data and AI Can Help
As
the rapid growth of social media over past years, the problems people are
facing become more and more complex, the influence on social value or decision
making is not the only thing we need to deal with. For example, Facebook and
Twitter are the two biggest social platforms to spread fake news and

Terrorists began to use social media
platforms to promote issues. Fake news may affect elections, provoke social

People must be educated to have a great
responsibility to verify the information before they share it. Before big data,
AI, and tools that support machine learning become more complex and reliable,
people need to concentrate on educating to become critical thinkers since they
are young, rather than making every story valuable.
I really enjoyed to learn more about how Big Data and AI can help preventing the spread of fake news. I believe that we all know that in today’s world, fake news is a big problem that affects almost everyone in this globalized world. Big Data is a problem that can cause a lot of damage for people, businesses, governments, countries etc. A lot of people does not have the habit of checking the information they receive before sharing it and telling other people about it. This way, if a malicious person decides to share a fake information on the internet, it is possible that a lot of people shares it and that this information can become “true” in a lot of people’s opinion, even though it is not real.
ReplyDeleteSo I think it is really important that there are companies that are using big data and AI to analyze, identify and warn the public if that information is false or not. As we have seen, it seems that big data will grow more and more during the following years, and this will make the algorithm to evolve and become even more precise.
In my opinion, for now we need to combine education, big data and AI to try to fight against the fake news. We need to educate the people, so that they will double check before sharing some information online. There are also people that does not even opens the article, they just read the title and share it straight. Also, we need to continue using big data to warn people that an information is not correct and is fake news. And of course, keep improving the big data analytics and AI, so it can be more and more precise.
I liked to see how big data can be used to fight against a real problem that the globalized world is suffering with right now.
