We may hear about big data. But actually, do we really know how it works and what the differences between data science, big data, and data analytics.

What is data science?

It often deals with unstructured and structured data. Data science is a combination of statistics, mathematics, programming, and problem-solving. So, we can see that it is the first step—gathering the data and doing analyzing it.

Applications of data science

Internet searching, digital advertisements, and recommender systems are all under data science since it covers the algorithm.

What is big data?

Big data refers to enormous volumes of data. The system can do the analysis on its own and automatically respond to the solution. Simply, it is better for a business to make an effective decision. It is used widely in our daily life.

Application of big data

In financial service, communication, and retail, we all can see its existence. Big data can detect the words that we use frequently and reply to you through the algorithm. In that case, in the customer service field, it can be forecasted that the labor cost can be decreased. Moreover, in the banking system, many transactions happen every day. Big data can secure the whole process. You may concern what if it is too transparent. I can say that big data only detect suspicious accounts, so it can get a fraud transaction. The next I want to talk about is in the social media field. I always wonder why youtube can recommend so many videos based-on my interests. It is all because of big data. Behind the screen, calculation, and algorithm process every minute. Through our watch history, it can easily predict our next step.

What is data analytics?

It usually used in some businesses to make better decisions also disprove existing theories. Data analytics involves collecting data and optimizing solutions.

Application of data analytics

The widest example of data analytics is GPS. It helps drives to direct the routs and also re-direct the road immediately. Based-on the real driving experience, it is very helpful for drivers.

In conclusion, after understanding these words and how it works, it helps us to know better in our daily life.
