COVID-19 D0766661 Midori

From my research, I found an interesting TV program about COVID-19, so today I will share the contents of this program related to the Big Data.

In the "Corona Paper Analysis Project", first, more than 50,000 new Corona related papers were read as big data and analyzed by AI. The following three themes were the focus of this show.

1. What causes severe disease?
2. Expected new treatment strategies
3. What about vaccines?

And this blog, I will write about 1. What causes severe disease? this part.

Visualizing the whole picture of the analyzed data revealed one paper that researchers around the world are paying attention to. It is a detailed analysis of 99 patients in Wuhan, China, announced in late January. So far, it has been quoted more than 500 times, and cases have been reported one after another from all over the world starting with this paper.

The first thing to understand is what is happening in our body when we are infected with the new corona. Based on important case reports, the patient's progress is extracted along the time axis. By overlapping them, we created a typical timeline leading to severe disease.

There is no symptom for a while from the day of infection with the new coronavirus. Approximately 5th day, symptoms such as cough and fever begin to appear. Gradually worsening, symptoms of pneumonia such as breathlessness appear. And the fate break is about the 15th day. While many are recovering, about 6% develop pneumonia, making it difficult to breathe on their own.

Furthermore, the symptoms spread to organs throughout the body. Many people develop cerebral infarction, heart failure, liver failure, renal failure, etc. Some of the mysterious symptoms may lead to necrosis of the legs. The characteristic of the new Corona is that it falls into a serious condition due to these systemic symptoms.

According to the results of studies by various experts, the inexplicable systemic symptoms caused by the new corona are thought to be caused by "vascular inflammation". Once infected with the virus, it is believed that "vascular inflammation" begins to occur.
