Connected Manufacturing – How data and analytics are reshaping manufacturing
Manufacturing industry are rapidly changing. They used to be slowpokes or lazybones on emerging technologies as business processes. From the production line to the operations behind the scenes, have essentially been tied to legacy applications. Competitive pressures are on and they are also driven by the technological enhancements across broad sectors of the economy. Recently, manufacturing leaders are looking for new ways to improve productivity, reduce downtime and streamline operations and the supply chain.
In order to reshape the most advance manufacturing, manufacturers must brainstorm a better approach on their data managing. Data management is thecore of an effective data utilization. I will share, which I think is the top 3 of data and analytics use cases that help manufacturers enhance their work.
1. Real-time Process Monitoring : provices a consistent real-time view of the state of operations and an insight into key sensor parameters and KPIs also they measure production target.
2. Predictive Maintenance : Manufacturers can forecast maintenance needs based on the definite condition of equipment, based on the data coming off of sensors, thus reducing costs and improving efficiencies.
3. Computer vision for quality assurance : using computers to automate visual check at a rate and detail so precise that no human can match, allowing computers to effectively handle quality assurance while reducing the cost of quality control and preventing defects across the manufacturing process.
These three cases can help a manufacturing industry to better optimize their work and hopefully will give them a much better result
