Comment 2: 10 Predictions for Big Data in 2020

The first subheading of the article mentions that big data will die, but data will be rich. In a sense, it could be true if people and companies continue to collect data just because they can and it doesn't actually have any use in terms of prediction for their exact service. Having a lot of data somewhere could be useful if one were to pivot your company.

Decentralised becoming a buzzword is rather unlikely. Cloud services offer reliable, affordable and protected online cloud computing services. These are unlikely to not be used anymore. Having your own servers is a waste of time and money. However, in terms of disconnecting from giants like Facebook and Google, sites may have in interest in becoming decentralised from those specifically.

Blockchain in terms of crypto currency actually helps ransomware in terms of providing them with untraceable money. Also, there are many other systems in which you can protect your data which is more private than blockchain which have existed many years prior to blockchain.

I believe many of the other prediction will come true but not as quick as the author said. The article was written in the beginning of 2020 and many of the 'deadlines' of the predictions are 2020. Many of them are not even close to completion, but I do believe that it is at least headed in the direction that the article said it would.
