Disney is the childhood memories of nearly every child, at least for me it was. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, and so on. To be honest I have never been to Disney Amusement park, but I really want to give it a try, and I think I already pass the age to enjoy that amusement park.

This article mentioned about how Disney applies big data and to be surprised, they developed from 2013, which is 7 years ago and collects the information and data they want. Not only big data but this article also include artificial intelligence and the potential challenges they faced. I will focus on big data part instead of artificial intelligence, if anyone of you is reading through my blog now, and interested in their artificial intelligence, you can click the web link up there to access the whole entire article.

The article gives three well-known examples of the usage in big data, however, as I mentioned I have never been to Disney, so I cannot really say I have got those things and it really works like that, so I will just base on the article, if you have been to Disney, you can tell me if they really have those stuff. First, wearable MagicBand bracelet. It has an RFID chip which provides a lot of functions and services for customers. The most important thing is it generates large amounts of data around the movements of each individual customer. By doing this Disney could improve the customer experience. Second, the long waiting lines, Disney will redirect those customers to less congested areas of the park. Third, it allows them to develop all kinds of innovative park features, and help predict a child’s favorite character based on their behavior and location.
