 This blog described about Big Data is made for helping in Logistics management and transportation networks because of the vast amount of data will so complex to collect and classify, thus, this technology was designed to help organizations and companies to create new strategies and develop more effective innovations and projects.

 Logistics and Big Data are a Perfect Solution

 The technological and Methodological advancements of Big Data has a lot of benefit in the logistics sector. Recently, logistics providers has to manage a huge shipment of products and that means creating massive data sets at the same time, for example, millions of shipments every day have to create data about origin, destination, weight, size, and location in global delivery networks. Therefore, integration of supply chain streams from multiple logistics providers has huge benefits by eliminating market fragmentation, and enabling powerful new collaboration and services.

 Moreover, globalization make the world become closer, therefore, logistics management and transportation networks become more complex that also lead managing the data's types become more complex. Big Data can make new capabilities to put logistics providers in a position as "search engines in the physical world."


From my perspective, Big Data effects in logistics management and transportation networks because the highly competition of global companies will take lot of advantage in new data sources to improve their business in the leader's position. According to inventing new and effective business processes, logistics providers will also develop in collecting data methods, like data subscriber networks with advanced footprints that will lead to the advancement and development of logistics management in the future. Moreover, today, many companies of logistics have plan to invest in Big Data Analytics for their advance benefits in the future that let me consider about how useful and important of Big Data Analytics in logistics and transportation networks management.

    This semester I took a Logistic class so I’m quite familiar with big data in Logistic in theory not
    practice tho:D. We can see lots of people ordering things online so logistic is very important to part
    of our daily life not only to companies anymore. With the increasing needs of people, I learned that

    logistic can be improving so many ways using these technologies. After practicing with case
    studies, I would say that it seem complex in when it come to applied in the real situation because
    logistic involved with variables that sometimes cannot be control such as weather or natural
    disaster or traffic. However it is logistic is crucial to businesses in term of cost and customer
    satisfaction so it is very much necessary to understand and improved. On the bright side, with
    technologies improved so quickly, it is most likely to become easier and easier than in the past
    where technologies is not developed. Thank for sharing this information for an interesting
    discussion.
