How YouTube Uses Big Data
Nowadays, YouTube has become one of the
most popular social media on the internet. Gradually, YouTube come up with many
ways to provide the suitable channels or music lists for viewers.
They use several methods to achieve their
goal. First, recommended channels, YouTube uses big data to analyze our
searching behavior and offering us similar contents which we may be interested
in. For example, if I prefer to listen light music then it will provide more
relevant contents for me.
Next, YouTube uses the click accumulation
to rank which is the most view video. Thus, we can know the many hot videos and
the latest trending at the first time. In this way, we can talk with other
people the world trends and it is very funny.
YouTube has many new contents and attractive
videos recommend for us. From this we can see Google uses big data to collect
customers’ data and then analyze it to get to know our preference. So we can
easily see many new videos that we like the most. It also offers us YouTube Prime, in that
VIP, we can have more customer experiences and personalized services because it
is generated through big data tech. I reckon that this is one of the most
useable application in our daily life.
Finally, it is the recommended videos,
those data are according to our behavior that we searched before. For instance,
if we choose what we like to watch and subscribe it. Later, YouTube will

ReplyDeleteSo that is why Youtube can achieve such a great success. We all know that YouTube is now well-developed, and there are even lots of people making money from YouTube, which we called a YouTuber. However, the first video was called, "Me at the Zoo", and we no one knows that it will become like this is a few years. Perhaps since google bought YouTube in 2006 and make some changes and make it so different. So, instead of there strategies, they shall also use some of the data to do some changes. As Google, a company which really good at "data grabbing". There are some of the things that we should know.
ReplyDeleteYouTube’s popularity is no secret as the website is worth over $26 billion. It is the website where everyone goes to check out the latest videos. In fact, all the world’s top brands have their own YouTube channel. To lessen the amount of time each user searches for the videos they prefer, YouTube uses big data. Here are a few ways they do it:2-youtube
YouTube bases the recommended channels according to the videos you often go to. For example, if you often visit videos about basketball, you can expect the channels to be all about basketball tutorials, NBA highlights and player interviews.
YouTube bases the trending videos on the number of clicks a video gets daily. It would be best to check out these videos so you don’t get left behind on what people are talking about. The topics are mixed so don’t expect to like them all.
The recommended videos are based on what you’ve checked out before. For example, if you checked out videos from the Jimmy Kimmel Show channel, there are a chance new videos from that channel will pop up in the recommendations.
No wonder every time I login my youtube it always shoes me my favorite video! It is kind of scary for example, sometime I talk about or search about a object and it will shoes on the internet of its advertisement, I mean it might help me find things quickly but it does make me fell unsafe. YouTube recommends channels based on videos you often watch. For example, if you frequently visit videos about formula one racing, you can expect all channels to be about f1tutorials, highlights, and racer interviews. YouTube uses the most powerful media to connect with people's hearts, by inviting brands and consumers, including consumers to establish connections, plan, create and form communities, and promote it from one-way communication to two-way experience. On YouTube, brands have unparalleled opportunities to connect with the most valuable audiences and have the freedom to create in the most compelling ways. The rewards that marketers receive are not only emotionally but actually buying, commenting on, sharing, and supporting the brand’s group of advocates. In short, YouTube lets people choose your brand. YouTube is not only a distribution service for many independent and professional programmers, but also a key part of the incredible, compact and powerful global marketing tool. Google executives recently promised that they will "listen to the brand" and take "actions" to help YouTube become a more effective platform to achieve its goals.
ReplyDeleteEntertainment has become a necessity in our lives. We are constantly eager to obtain endorphins from entertainment materials. There are enough programs and content today to allow us to participate in every remaining moment. Therefore, no matter which war broke out or what strategic attack might be launched against us, we can be sure that no one will die of boredom in the near future. The rise of the Internet and online streaming platforms paved the way for the new golden age of television. The original works of Production House have been selling like hot cakes. It may be surprising, but it is very likely that the old reliable TV may be permanently replaced by the modern miracle of the Internet. For me, when I open the Youtube app, it gives me surprise every time. This app automatically provide some videos that maybe I like based on my history. Therefore, I can know some new YouTubers or videos that I don’t know them first, but the algorithm recommended me so I’m keen for them finally. In addition, I find that every time I search products which interest me on the internet, it appears on the first page of Youtube. That really surprises me. I thing big data is a useful tool for a company to target their customers. No matter entertainment or YouTube industry, the company can use the data it collect to give their customers the best option. On behalf of users, I do feel convenient the service that advanced technology provide. However, there are also some scandals for leaking privacy. I consider how to keep customers private information safe to be the vital issue for the business.

ReplyDeleteMore than 70% of YouTube users worldwide watch their videos from auto-recommended videos. How YouTube has dug out the content that may be of interest to users from huge audio and video content. The hero behind it is Google’s open source TensorFlow machine learning technology in 2015 To create a YouTube video recommendation system.
Machine learning model with TensorFlow architecture makes deep neural network system operate faster and more flexible.
TensorFlow is used in Google Photos and translation services, and the YouTube video recommendation system combines two neural networks, Candidate Generation Model and Ranking Model.
The recommendation system will first generate models from candidates, consider the user’s past video browsing history, search history, demographic variables and other variables, and filter millions of audio and video data from YouTube’s audio and video database to hundreds and users. Relevant audiovisual data to be close to the user's preferences.
Next, through the Ranking Model, through Nominating features, the characteristics include demographic resources such as geographic location, most popular audio and video, user language, video language, recent viewing history, users and past links to the channel, etc. , To find the Signals related to the user with the weight score to generate dozens of videos to recommend to the user. In order to make users feel that YouTube understands the preferences of users, YouTube will always prepare 100 hours of content that users may be interested in.
