How big data is now busting city traffic
jams
In order to develop IOT on traffic in the
near future, big data nowadays has become a crucial issue in improving the goal
to be accomplished. First step is to set many sensor system and monitor
technologies to accumulate data. Also, scrutinizing the traffic situation in
real time.
Many cities tend to use big data technique
to deal with traffic congestion. Thus, predictive analytics become an important
issue to help government predict future travel demands. Besides, they build a
transportation model to run data set in order to take the optimal decision.
Although this is not easy, I believe our big data tech can be improved in a few
years.
From monitoring traffic, government can
collect data and traffic flow to create the optimal route for citizens. Also,
if the road is in construction, we can think about other methods in the real
time. Besides, bid data technology connect with IoT devices in the car and the
road sensitive devices. With these equipment, traffic jams can be reduced to a
satisfied level in the near future.
The article introduces a case study to
illustrate traffic issue. There has been lots of people immigrated into the Moreno
Valley. Thus, the number of people have skyrocketed and the local government
deal with civic and developments issues. They corporate with the firms who
provide camera systems, cloud-based software and data ecosystem. Finally, they
can scrutinize and control the traffic flow and the emergency accidents on the
road by using the big data systems. This is the example of the application of
big data.
That’s very interesting article! When I was a junior high school student, at technical class, I learned there is a technology that can be solve the traffic jam problem in japan.
ReplyDeleteThe bureau called JATIC, which predict how crowded in Japan’s highways and roads for sightseeing. When I check this system after a few years, I felt the techlogy in the map become more precision. I really annoying with traffic jams, so I hope it will be improve more and make our driving comfortable.
