Since the beginning of 2020, the word “Covid-19” has been trending. This coronavirus has been spreading almost in every parts of the world. People are panicking when they hear this word. However, information technology can play a major role during this outbreak. Advanced technology nowadays can help reducing public panic and also predicting trends through big data analysis.
According to the article, Hong Kong launch an interactive map recently. The interactive map shows the latest information of the epidemic in Hong Kong real time. This allows people to understand the current situation and calm their selves down. Another great example is from Macau government’s, they continually publish updates about masks availability in pharmacies in the area.
Machine learning and predictive analysis tools have been used to comprehend and monitor information in the field of health. It would help a lot if we can use big data analysis to predict the future.
However, there are also some things that we have to be concerned about. For example, privacy, it is important for us to keep our personal information safe. In my opinion, before launching new application, providers need to ensure that they can keep their users’ privacy safe, so that no one can leak them.
After reading this article, I realize how important it is to use advanced technology in a right way. By using it in the right way, it can save people’s lives. Just like in the article, big data analysis can give us a great benefit not only in medical care but also other fields in the future.
