Website: https://www.byteant.com/blog/7-ways-how-to-use-big-data-in-social-media/

Because we use social media every day and they engage in our daily life so deeply. So I choose the article that explains the big data with social media. Think about how many times you log into your Instagram account, how many videos you watch on Youtube, and how many messages you sent within just one day. All our actions done on social media can be gathered and form large databases.

the article simply overviews the 7 leverages of big data for social media. The first benefits is about the omnichannel sources. Lots of the websites ask visitors to log in with their existing social media account so that they can easily gather the information from the visitors. After the the data are collected, the market can run their real-time interaction like advertisements clicked or links saved to find out their target customers. And with the combination of big data strategy and predictive analytics, it is possible to make decisions more precisely for their future activities and reasonable prices.

However, it is not always perfect under the process of big data analyzing. Security issues have been found since the big data influx into the internet world. Any actions performed by the users could be recorded and might be used without the permission of the users. So some enterprises consider the protection of their customers’ privacy issues as the first important thing to do and view it as a critical issue in the coming big data world.

  3. To be honest, this topic attracts me due to "Social Media". We definitely cannot live without social media these days so I can't agree with you more! That's why I click your blog first and read it through. And for sure, privacy is an issue. Some people feel annoying to see lots of same ads in different social media, or they even feel weird and scary by being tracked. So it really depends I think. Share an interesting things with you, when I was browsing through social media, somebody posted out and said he is not going to use iPhone in the future. The reason is so ridiculous! He wrote that he saw an advertisement on Instagram, and he clicked through, then when he switched to Facebook, he saw the totally same advertisement again frequently. He was so shocked! The comments below told him that not only iPhone, if you use Android products, you will also faced this problem. And so many people laughed at him with no common sense. I bet he never heard of Big Data and Machine Learning probably. Or maybe he just want to attract everyone’s attention and give him a like button. And this part is the one I also experienced the most actually. I believe anyone with Facebook, Instagram or other social media like Twitter, Weibo, YouTube, Oasis probably will also have this situation. Because this is the most direct part that go with us. Some fan page in Facebook also have Insights to collect data and manage the page, but not everyone is the manager of the page.
